2.7m sq.ft. 9 buildings.

With half a mile of river frontage along the Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, and a total of 21.5 acres of space, it’s a vast and lively mixed-use environment

Providence Impact

In his role as Project Executive for London Bridge City Phase II and working closely with Ken Shuttleworth at Foster & Partners, Alastair Ied the planning application (including the branding exercise with Wolf Olins that created the 'More London' brand) which added 1m sq.ft to an existing 1.7m sq.ft consent in just 14 months.

By securing the Greater London Authority (GLA) as the anchor tenant, Alastair effectively made refusing the planning application impossible for the London Borough of Southwark.

By focussing on the primary pedestrian desire line from London Bridge Station to the Tower of London and pushing the mass of buildings back to repair the broken grain of Tooley Street, Alastair disarmed 30 years of opposition from the Historic Royal Palaces which has stymied multiple applications from the previous owners, St. Martin’s Property owned by the Kuwait Investment Office (KIO).
